![]() ![]() ![]() If the stored MJ value goes too high the engine WILL explode, so you don't want to be producing excess power. On the GUI extra-window it shows how much "heat" and MJ is stored. Stirling engines are a good choice for powering a pump for 1 or 2 Combustion Engines, while if you are using more, a combustion engine will be needed for the water supply. Though all BuildCraft engines run at the same speed when hot (1 cycle per second), the Stirling Engine produces 20 times as much power as a basic Redstone Engine. Stirling engines can be used as a power supply for mining machines, and can be connected to each other or can transfer power through Conductive Pipes. It will only accept buckets of lava, although it will also accept lava cells, making it easier to leave these running a quarry on lava. *You cannot pump lava directly into the engine. The stirling engine is turned on/off via a redstone signal and requires an active redstone signal to run. Burnable items include lava buckets, blaze rods, coal, charcoal, wood, planks, sticks, saplings, crafting tables, chests, bookcases, etc-in essence, anything a normal furnace will burn, except cactus and sugarcane. ![]() The stirling engine runs by burning items and so needs refueling to continue operation. You should just test it out, maybe with an EU reader or something similar.Stirling engines output 1MJ/t while on (given a redstone signal). However, a Quarry uses really a lot of energy, so sometimes it might seem like it needs too much. I do not know if that takes up more energy than the opposing side needs, but I doubt it. It should be in the PowerConverters Mod that's included in Lite, try to look that up here. If there is a more resource efficient way, I don't know it.Įdit: As Tekkit-Lite doesn't seem to have the Electrical Engines, you can use an "Energy Link", which might even be more efficient. Use however many Engines you can power and push that energy directly into the tesseract, and set the tesseract directly next to the quarry. While Electrical Engines have a bit of a conversion loss, they still work quite efficiently. What worked for me best and what was the easiest way to move my quarry after use was to use Tesseracts and Electrical Engines. As the Tekkit pack doesn't seem to include Mekanism and its generators (if I'm not mistaken), Thermal Expansion appears to be the best way. ![]()
